Sustain Yourself Lip Balms
For compostable lip balms, Sustain Yourself uses all of the best natural ingredients to repair and hydrate chapped lips.
All of the ingredients are 100% natural and are sustainably and ethically sourced. This lip balm will not only give your lips new life but can also be used on other parts of the body such as hands, feet, and even as an eyebrow balm to keep hairs in place!
The goal is to provide a sustainable option for typical store-bought plastic lip balm for those who are looking for a sustainable alternative and don't have the time or resources to make their own DIY products.
They use natural and compostable product labels made from all-natural and unbleached sugar cane paper with naturally occurring fibers and are toned with a compostable adhesive that is vegan and tree-free!
The lip balm tubes are also 100% biodegradable and are proudly sourced from a small and local business in Minnesota. Note that these tubes are bigger than conventional lip balm tubes. They could size down, but then you would need to use a pencil or a thin object to push up the bottom disk for more lip balm, as you run out. This size is used for the convenience of being able to use your finger to push up the disk at the bottom of the tube.
Fun fact: This lip balm is only $2 more than the same amount of conventional lip balm. Our tubes contain 50% more lip balm than the conventional 0.15oz tubes, so they last twice as long, are packaged in hand-crafted, biodegradable packaging, and are handmade with pure and natural ingredients that are safe for the environment and our bodies.
How to Use: Push the disk at the bottom of the tube gently for more balm.

Why Beeswax?
You may be curious to understand their reasoning behind the use of beeswax in lip balms, considering we talk frequently about our plant-based lifestyles. Bees are an essential part of our ecosystem because they help pollinate the many fruit and vegetable crops we eat today. Unfortunately, bees have entered the endangered species list because of unsustainable bee farming, modern urbanization, and pesticide use. Because of this, it's so important to support sustainable and ethical bee farming that focuses on the growth of bee populations in urban landscapes, healthy hives, and flourishing colonies.
That's why they source the beeswax from a family-owned, Minnesota-based beekeeping farm called Bar Bell Ranch that is helping maintain existing bee populations and supporting the local environment and economy. They value sustainable bee-keeping practices and help keep the bees healthy and happy and do not use pesticides.
Sustain Yourself is happy to support such a company that values the importance of the bee population and health as much as we do. Because no bees, equals no us.
